Jesus commanded His disciples to “go and make disciples” ... but what did He mean exactly?  What, exactly, IS a “disciple of Jesus Christ”? If we’re going to do something that Jesus told us to do – shouldn’t we have a clear picture of what He wants us to accomplish ... what we’re trying to do?

 

The shortest – and perhaps best – definition I ever heard for the word “disciple” is, “A disciple is a “disciplined learner”.  

 

An old preacher down in the Ozarks once said to me, “You can’t lead um where you’ve never been – and they’re hard to drive.”  How does this apply to making disciples?  Simple -- in order to MAKE disciples, one must first BE a disciple.  So – if we are trying to MAKE disciples – we must, ourselves, be “disciplined” – “learning” – “applying” – “followers” of Jesus.
